Der Thenau-Riegel zählt mit etwa 41 ha Ausdehnung zu den größten Trockenrasen im Burgenland. Am Südfuß des Leithagebirges gelegen, ist er von marinen Kalken aufgebaut, die an mehreren Stellen schöne Felsformationen aufbauen.
